For me to achieve the most accurate and detailed portrait possible of your chosen subject it is best to provide clear, well lit photos.
If I can’t see an area, due to shadow or the angle of the photo, I can’t draw it in the detail it may require to capture the true likeness.
Points to consider
• Is the eye colour/area visable? Ensure there is no red eye and the brows are not creating too much shade to the eye. The same applies to the ears.
• Does the picture show an accurate representation of the fur colour? Often different lights, particularly artificial and strong sunlight, can make the fur appear a different shade.
• Does the camera angle distort the proportions of the features? If a photo is taken too close it can make features, overly large.
The best photos are taken on the same level as the subject and with them facing in to normal light. Try to get as close as possible without cropping the ears or too high on the neck.
